Spoutless CUPS For Children With Special Needs

Autism, Speech and eating Challenges

For parents with children with special needs it is especially hard to choose the right water bottle or a sippy cup that balances great functionality and age appropriateness. WOW CUPs are one of the most preferred drinking cups used by families and children experiencing some challenges such as autism and other special needs. One of them is our amazing customer Ashleigh and her 6-year-old son with autism who shared their experiences with using WOW CUP® in everyday life.

“My son is always going or moving, so having something like an open cup isn’t functional for him. On the other hand, a 6-year-old walking around with a bottle or sippy cup isn’t something I wanted either! WOW GEAR makes it possible for my son to easily drink his favorite drinks without making a huge mess or making him look or feel like a toddler,” describes Ashleigh.

WOW CUPS for disabilities and Autism

Families are using different WOW CUPs for different beverages and situations which is a great trick in order to keep the kids hydrated throughout the whole day. The 360 DOUBLE-WALLED TRITAN bottle is their everyday water bottle for when they leave the house because it is 20 oz and insulated to keep drinks colder for longer. The 12 ounce WOW CUP® mini is their at-home water cup because of its shape that is easy to grab and carry no matter the age, but it is also a great travel bottle. And the WOW CUP® Kids serves as a morning and evening milk, water or juice cup providing 10 ounce capacity.

“We have used these cups for over 14 months now and I can honestly say they are amazing! They give my son independence and the ability to feel like other kids his age while also giving me relief knowing that he won’t make a mess with every sip he takes,” says Ashleigh.

WOW CUPs Assist in Special Education Classes

Special Needs Classes

Spill-free and spoutless cups help to strengthen the tongue muscles and for that, they are also used as training cups in special education classrooms.

“WOW CUPs make a great transition tool between a sippy cup and a standard cup for children with special needs. It’s a great tool to have in our sped classroom,” says Ashlyn Serpas, special education teacher at St Bernard Parish School in Louisiana.

In conclusion WOW CUPs combine great functionality and age appropriateness and for that they are often used by families and children experiencing some challenges, such as autism and other special needs. Sometimes it is challenging to keep little ones hydrated throughout the day so different cups can serve for different situations to make it easier. They are also used in special education classes where they are helping to train the drinking from regular open cups.
